ESET renamed its consumer range in 2024. The product many people still search for as Smart Security Premium is now sold as ESET Home Security Premium, and Internet Security became ESET Home Security Essential. Both names still circulate, which makes buying confusing when a shop lists only one of them. This page maps the old names onto what is actually on sale, so you can tell which key you need before you pay.
Smart Security Premium is now Home Security Premium. Internet Security is now Home Security Essential. NOD32 Antivirus became Home Security Essential's entry tier. The licence itself is unchanged in kind — a key, a device count, and a term in years — so a key sold under a current name activates the current product even if you arrived searching the old one.
ESET keys are sold per device count and per term, and the two together set the price. A one-year, one-device key and a one-year, five-device key are different products, not the same product at different prices. Check the device count on the listing before buying: a key cannot be topped up with extra devices afterwards, it has to be replaced.
Some ESET keys are region-scoped, and the region appears in the product name. A key marked EU is intended for European activation, and a key marked US for North America. Every listing on this page shows its activation restrictions, and region-free keys are marked as such. Buying outside your region is the single most common reason an otherwise genuine key refuses to activate.
