Additional Story information Between the years of 2030 and 2090, humans were surgically attaching and embedding computer and robots parts into their bodies, making them into Cyborgs or Cybernetic Organisms. Many people were also mutating due to the implants and genetic augmentations, achieving significant genetic and biological changes, enhancements, and abilities. These mutations also explain some of the characters that the player encounters in the game.

As society collapsed due to the cataclysmic event of the meteor strikes, factories and businesses closed, food production and gas and oil refining stopped.
